Bob Hayes

Florida A&M’s Bob Hayes (pictured here in Rattler togs) won two gold medals in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and was called, “The World’s Fastest Human.” As a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys (1965-1975), “Bullet Bob” forced defensive backs to develop the “bump-and-run” technique to try and shut him down. However, 20 of Hayes’ 71 career touchdowns covered 50-plus yards. A three-time All-Pro, he is the only player to win both an Olympic gold medal and a Super Bowl ring. He was recently included in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2009 and is the 23rd Black college player inducted to the Hall.
